The own revolution of the “sons of revolution”

My generation often call itself as “the sons of the revolution”. We, that were born in the seventies of the XX century, call ourselves as “the sons of the revolution”, because of the counter-revolution made by military in 1964, but, more boldly, after 1968, in the context of the cold war, the left-oriented armed guerrillas inspired by Cuba and clandestine wars between communists and capitalists. There is a 1980’s music from a former rock band called “Legião Urbana”, “Geração Coca cola”, that resumes, explains and probably inspired some of us. Somewhere in this song they say “we were the sons of the revolution, we a the future of the nation, coca cola generation”. By why is this important, since this generation grew up to obey, without freedom of speech, required not to think but only to repeat the official other ideas? Few of us remain alive. Many died by drugs abuse, aids, depression, suicide. Fewer got some political power, many of these are sons or grandsons of the oligarchy that govern this country for more than four decades. Oligarchy that was mentor, ally and principal interested and beneficiary of the militarized state and that still govern us, now through his sons and grandsons. [to be continued]
